This is a/n (EAP) textbook intended for undergraduate students of basic sciences mainly (Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Statistics) although some units of the book contain readings with an interdisciplinary flavor presenting topics which border both the aforementioned disciplines and other science-related issues. The reading materials range from preintermediate to intermediate English and to facilitate the reading comprehension pace for the students, the definitions for difficult terms are provided in each unit. Although basically a reading selection, the book cares for other aspects of language learning and includes exercises ranging from writing paraphrases to translation practice. Following the reading section, the students are presented with a vocabulary exercise, then they are asked to supply the appropriate forms of the selected words. Multiple choice comprehension questions on the reading section are also provided followed by the structure section which contains a correction exercise, paraphrasing and a cloze test. Each unit contains a text for translation which can also serve as a reading comprehension text
